How to schedule social media posts as a team
By the SyncUpSocial team
What is a social media scheduler?
A social media scheduler lets you prepare posts and choose when to publish them. SyncUpSocial brings a shared content calendar, team reviews, and connected social accounts into one workspace. Each network has its own account, media, and publishing rules.
1. Choose the accounts and campaign goal
Choose the audience, message, and channels before you write. Connect the accounts that will publish the campaign. Check the permissions and supported formats on the integration pages. A connected account does not mean every native platform feature is available.
2. Build a shared content calendar
Plan each post with a channel, owner, draft, media asset, and target date. Leave room for review and changes. Keep recurring posts separate from one-time announcements so the team can spot gaps and repeated messages.
3. Adapt the post for each network
Start with one message, then adjust the text, links, and media for each destination. Review Instagram publishing requirements separately from LinkedIn posts or YouTube uploads. Check each platform’s current limits before scheduling.
4. Review before scheduling
Ask the responsible reviewer to check the copy, links, media rights, destination account, and date. Use draft comments to resolve changes before the post reaches the queue. Reviewers can comment while editors schedule; comments do not enforce approval. For multiple clients, organize accounts and collaborators into client teams. Check which collaboration features your plan includes.
5. Confirm the time and publishing result
Check the displayed time zone and scheduled time. After the scheduled time, check the post status and its destination. If a post fails, inspect the reported error and account permissions before trying again. Scheduling is not a guarantee that a third-party platform will accept a post.
How do you choose the best time to post?
There is no single time that works for every audience. Start with the times your audience is active, then compare results across several posts. Use the analytics available for each connected network. Do not assume that all platforms expose the same metrics.
Can you schedule social media posts for free?
SyncUpSocial’s Free plan includes three connected channels and ten scheduled posts per workspace per month. Check current pricing and checkout terms before choosing a paid plan.
